Hours as published by the organizer in October 2026; check the official site before you go. \nInsider tips\nWith the baroque palace lit up in color behind the wooden huts\, this is one of Berlin’s most romantic Christmas markets. It’s been running since 2007\, and more than 100 exhibitors sell crafts like Advent stars\, Christmas pyramids\, candles and ceramics\, plus treats like candied apples and wood-oven bread. Families will like the two small children’s carousels and the little Ferris wheel\, and brass players stroll through the market. Evenings and weekends are the most popular times\, so come on a weekday afternoon if you want it calmer (it opens at 13:00 Monday to Thursday). Entry is free. It’s closed on 24 December but open again on 25 and 26 December. During the market\, the palace also offers special tours about the Hohenzollern family’s Christmas traditions. \nGetting there\nBuses 109 and M45 stop at Luisenplatz/Schloss Charlottenburg\, right at the market. Hours as published by the organizer in October 2026; check the official site before you go. \nInsider tips\nThis is one of Berlin’s prettiest squares\, with the market set between the Konzerthaus concert hall and the two domed churches. Good to know: unlike most German markets\, it charges a small admission fee\, €2. Entry is free on weekdays from 11:00 to 14:00 and on 24\, 25 and 26 December\, and children under 12 always get in free. So a weekday lunchtime visit is both the quietest and the cheapest. Food stalls take cards\, but bring some cash for the craft stalls. Leave the big backpack at the hotel\, because only small bags up to about A4 size are allowed. It’s one of the few markets open after Christmas\, running right through New Year’s Eve with a special party (separate €9 ticket). \nGetting there\nTake the U6 to Stadtmitte\, which is step-free with an elevator\, or the U2 to Hausvogteiplatz (not step-free).
